At the centre of Stacks' practice is a desire to feel. She is drawn to emotional expression that can be dismissed as excessive, sentimental or uncool, and to the ways music can create permission for vulnerability and release.

Dazed Carrie Stacks: The Doyenne of London Nightlife 'If the UK's nightlife scene is a grenade, Ms Carrie Stacks is the pink-hued pin saving it from exploding (...) able as she is to bring even the deadest of dancefloors to life.'

I work across sound, image, word and business, and I’ve never been able to pick just one. Turns out that’s the point.

Ms. Carrie Stacks

I make music, DJ, shoot photographs, direct film and spend most of my time thinking through ideas that probably don’t need to exist. Until they do.

I was born in Tulsa, raised in London, Ghanaian by way of my parents. Most of my life has been spent moving between cultures, cities and identities, which is probably why I’m drawn to work that refuses to sit in one place.

Music sits at the centre of it, but it’s never been the only thing. Image, story, style, nightlife, people, culture, it all pulls at me the same way. I like working with people who have big ideas and need someone to help figure out what those ideas could actually become.

Want to work? Let’s talk.
